Charity Dinner Dance Pride Park Stadium 7th July 2012

On Saturday 7th July 2012 First Steps are holding our annual Charity Ball at Pride Park Stadium, Derby. The World Cup Final 2011 referee, Howard Webb will be our guest speaker on the night and it will be a fantastic opportunity to get involved in an action packed night of entertainment, games and auctions to raise funds for this innovative and forward thinking organisation. The event attracts over 250 guests and will provide a memorable and action packed evening for everyone involved, particularly the staff and volunteers at First Steps who dedicate their time and energy providing a unique service to the people of Derbyshire.

Personal Story

"I had been having weekly therapy sessions for a few weeks when my therapist suggested to me that I attend First Steps, at first I was horrified by the idea, there was no way I was going! Gradually with time I got up the courage to attend a meeting and I feel it was one of the most important steps I have taken so far I my recovery. Walking into the room for the first time and seeing a room full of unfamiliar faces was daunting to begin with, but everyone was so friendly I soon felt more at ease.
