My whole world collapsed at the end of March when my son broke the news to me that he is bulimic
"My whole world collapsed at the end of March when my son broke the news to me that he is bulimic. I was devastated and lost not knowing what to do next. We went to our GP all we got was anti-depressants and the advice to be there for my son and support him. So he was looked after but what about me how was I supposed to deal with the illness. All I got was the internet and my luck to find Cathy’s email address. I told my son that I was going to contact Cathy because I would need help and advice too. 1 hour later I had an answer on a Saturday evening which I could not believe! I cried when I read it and it meant so much to me I have gained greatly from Cathy’s advice. She informed Danielle who saw my son 3 days later and arranged counselling for him straight away. This was the beginning of his recovery and by now he tells me one bit after bit and we both live after the advice we got from the group. IT WORKS SO WELL! First steps plays an important role in my son’s life now and helps him to deal with his day to day struggle. It provides an outstanding service for sufferers and carers. The dedication is extraordinary. Mental Health is a taboo topic and everybody wants it to be passed on as quick as possible. Thank you every so much for all he support, help and advice we both got. I am so deeply grateful."
