How to recover
- It is widely accepted that the earlier the problem is recognised and addressed the more
likely the person is to recover.
- It is important that those around the person with an eating problem realise that this
is an illness and the person needs help and encouragement to overcome it. The right help
at the right time may save the sufferer from becoming entrenched in this way of life.
- If those around learn more about the illness they will be able to help constructively.
It is important that these illnesses are taken seriously, 1 in 10 people with Anorexia die.
- Bulimia Nervosa presents many problems. Constant vomiting causes vitamin and mineral
deficiencies, which seriously damage normal bodily functions.
