- First Steps is registered with the Eating Disorder Association,
www.edauk.com
and is Derby City's only Eating disorder support group.
- It was set up by Cathy Cleary in March 2004 because after suffering in silence with
bulimia/anorexia for over 15 years she did not want others to go through the emotional
isolation that eating disorders bring. All of our volunteers have had personal experience
of an eating disorder and food no longer controls their everyday lives.
- We offer a friendly and non judgmental atmosphere so please come along and you will
soon realise that there are other people feeling the same way as you, and we can all
help to support one another through difficult periods.
